Legends of the Track Evening a great success!
The response from our guests at the recent Legends Of the Track evening was overwhelmingly "fantastic".
The evening began with welcome drinks in the foyer and the opportunity for everyone to have a chat and a look around. After welcoming our special guests, Peter Champion led everyone into the Brock arena for the Brock-The Legend Light and Sound Show. Visitors and special guests alike were thrilled and delighted.
After a short walk through the showcase the evening began in earnest with Todd Martin from Muscle Car Events as our MC for the evening. Todd had prepared an extensive slide show of the many facets of HDT's racing history to share with our invited guests and visitors. It was fantastic to hear the many great stories and recollections of Des West he raced with Peter Brock on his debut drive at Bathurst, Larry Perkins, David Parsons and Graeme 'Mort' Brown. Harry Firth entertained with his razor sharp recollections, even in his 91st year! He also proudly unveiled his extensive trophy collection in its new home at Champions Brock Experience.
Jack Perkins gave us an insight into the modern day world of V8 Supercar racing and Bev Brock also shared some great highlights with the audience.
Guests were invited to pose for photos with our motoring legends and special guests as well as an autograph signing session.
The amazing finale to the evening came about with owner Peter Champion along with several invited guests starting the entire line up of the Marlboro HDT Commodores. All four of the race cars revved to life and the sound was spine tingling!! It was a complete thrill for those invited guests and memory we are sure they will hold dear for some time to come.
The guests reluctantly left well after the designated finish time promising to return for another visit soon. Special thanks again to all our invited guests, Harry Firth, Larry and Jack Perkins, Des & Ruth West, David Parsons, Graeme 'Mort' Brown and Bev Brock . We appreciate their time and effort in making this event such a success. Also thank you to all the great guests who came along on the night, we appreciate your support of these special events and hope to continue them with some great guests in 2010.
