2001 saw Peter Brock team with his son James in a Holden Ute for the Targa Tasmania event. The Utes' addition to the event caused some talk. It was entered into the demonstration category by invite. On occasions Brock was up with the leaders with his times as quick as the Porsches until the power steering unit burnt out. Team Brock was left stranded, a replacement was found but the time lost was impossible to regain.
