Peter Brock began his racing career in 1967, racing an Austin A30. His first race at Winton, 26th November, 1967 resulted in DNF (did not finish), in one short year he managed to place 4th in the championship. In 1969 Brock had his first drive at Bathurst in a HT Monaro, for the Harry Firth led, Holden Dealer Team. Firth mentored Peter Brock and definitely helped shape his future in motor racing. His statistics in Australian motor racing history are quite remarkable and his success remains unparalleled.
